Guarantee Conditions

Warranty terms and conditions of the EHEIM GmbH & Co. KG

The EHEIM GmbH & Co. KG, Plochinger Str. 54, 73779 Deizisau, Germany („EHEIM“), grants the end user a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty for this product valid for 3 (2) years from the date of purchase, provided that the product was purchased from an EHEIM-authorised specialist retailer.

This warranty does not limit the buyer’s statutory rights in the event of defects, in particular the statutory warranty rights against the seller. The exercise of these statutory rights is free of charge.

1. Terms and conditions of the warranty

A condition of the warranty is that the product has been used for its intended purpose and in accordance with the relevant instruction manual and the installation, operating, maintenance and safety instructions contained therein.

2. Scope of the warranty

The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that become apparent within the warranty period.

The warranty does not constitute a guarantee of durability. In particular, EHEIM does not guarantee that the product or individual components will retain a specific quality or functionality throughout the entire warranty period, or that they will achieve a specific service life or period of use.

In the event of a warranty claim, EHEIM will, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective product or parts free of charge.

The fulfilment of a warranty obligation neither extends the original warranty period nor causes it to recommence. This does not apply where mandatory statutory provisions preclude it.

3. Warranty exclusions

Particularly excluded from the warranty are:

·   Worn parts, in particular seals, suction heads, shafts, pump impellers, light sources, pH electrodes, filter media such as filter masses and filter cartridges and UVC lamps;

·   Glass damage;

·   Damage caused by external factors, improper handling, use for purposes other than those intended, incorrect set-up or installation, or failure to follow the operating instructions;

·   Damage resulting from repairs or interventions carried out improperly;

·   Damage resulting from modifications to the product’s structure

·   Damage caused by the use of replacement parts, accessories or other components that are not manufactured by EHEIM or have not been approved by EHEIM for use with the product in question.

Simply opening the product will only invalidate the warranty if the defect that has arisen was caused by this, or if it makes it significantly more difficult to inspect or rectify the defect.

4. Liability

The warranty terms set out above define the scope of the manufacturer’s voluntary warranty.

The purchaser’s statutory claims for damages remain unaffected. In particular, any statutory limitations of liability and exclusions of liability shall apply in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions.

5. Making a warranty claim

To make a claim under the warranty, the product must be taken to or sent to an EHEIM service center, accompanied by suitable proof of purchase.

In any case, the proof of purchase must show the date of purchase, the product or product type, and the seller.

6. How to ship the product

All warranty returns must be properly packed and adequately protected against damage in transit and must be sent to EHEIM postage-free.

7. Warranty provider

Warranty provider is:
