We have established that with the LED Power Supply Unit 4203210 sold between 2014 and 2016, an overloading of the lamp lead and connector may occur in rare cases. Overloading can cause the charring of the lead wire insulation which could cause a fire as a result.
In the event of you owning an LED Power Supply Unit 4203210, please check its production date as shown on the illustration provided.
The production data of the power supplies involved are as follows: MFD140501, MFD141002, MFD141204 and MFD150402. These were sold at pet shops and building supplies/garden centers with zoological departments.
In the event of the EHEIM powerLED light having fallen into aquarium water, further use should be discontinued. Should this be the case, please contact EHEIM’s customer service.
To avoid further malfunctions, we recommend ensuring sufficient ventilation underneath the aquarium cover. Efficient ventilation can be provided by opening the aquarium cover. Please leave the cover open, until you have received the new replacement power supply unit from EHEIM.
