The EHEIM MEDIA SETs include fine / coarse filter pads,  mechanical and biological filter media

EHEIM filter media – highly efficient, developed in our own laboratory, produced from the only the best raw materials, continuously checked and guaranteed free from pollutants.

Fine and coarse filter pads for mechanical and biological filtration

The porous material becomes evenly soaked with water and traps large and small dirt particles. After a short start-up period purification bacteria, which provide intensive biological decomposition of harmful substances, colonise the specially structured foam.

The fine and coarse filter pads are reusable many times over. To clean them simply rinse and squeeze out, so that the bacteria cultures are not completely destroyed.

The fine and coarse filter pads are reusable many times over. To clean them simply rinse and squeeze out, so that the bacteria cultures are not completely destroyed.

  • Porous material traps large and small dirt particles
  • Good colonisation conditions for bacteria cultures
  • Reusable several times over
  • To clean just rinse and squeeze out

EHEIM MECH

Prefilter material made from hollow ceramic rings for trapping large dirt particles

Directly after entering the filtration cycle, water is swirled through the hollow ceramic rings. Larger dirt particles thus sink to the bottom. The treated prefiltered water then continues its way through the other filter    layers. EHEIM MECH is easy to clean and reusable.
  • Prefilter material for large dirt particles
  • Hollow ceramic rings
  • Easy to clean
  • Reusable
  • Suitable for fresh and marine water
EHEIM SUBSTRATpro

Optimised bio-filter medium with perfect volume usage, long intervals between cleaning and top decomposition performance.

SUBSTRATpro consists of pearl-shaped sintered glass. The spherical shape gives a high bulk density. Thus the whole of the volume in the filter (filter baskets or modules) can be utilised. Also the optimum surface of the beads provides intensive colonisation of the important purification bacteria.
Due to the high number of bacteria, peak nitrite loads are more easily reduced and the maintenance intervals of the filter material are longer.
EHEIM SUBSTRATpro is suitable for fresh and marine water, is washable and can be reused.
  • Optimised bio-filter medium made from sintered glass
  • High bulk density due to spherical shape (beads)
  • Very dense colonisation of bacteria
  • Longer intervals between cleaning
  • Better reduction of nitrite loads
  • Reusable (rinse carefully to clean)
  • Suitable for fresh and marine water
